I added the second “n” to look feminine and a nod to my maiden name that ended in two n’s. Reply RyAnn Jun 17 at 1:58 pm So I am actually the oldest documented RyAnn that I have come across. The funny thing was in 1977 my parents could only agree on the name Ryan (with one N like the boys) wether I was a boy or girl. But since boy names weren’t cute for girls back in ’82 when I was 5 told my mom I wanted to change it to RyAnn so I legally amended my birth certificate and capitalized the A and added an extra N and was very adamant ABOUT NEVER putting an E on the end of it. But I absolutely love being the 1st RyAnn ? Reply RYANN May 11 at 8:42 am Ryann is my name. My whole life people have butchered saying it. It sounds like Rye o Anne. Not Ryan Reply Ryann May 11 at 8:49 am Ryann is not a boys name. It is NOT pronounced as Ryan. Ry Ann , sounds like Rye Anne ( Ann) Ryann is a feminine name. Reply Ryann Nov 6 at 6:47 pm my middle name is lea but my real name was rylie and im a girl my middle name used to be ann so when i was adopted they changed my name to be ryann from ry and ann forced together. Reply Ryann Nov 6 at 6:44 pm ya i love the name ryann to but i also don’t like it at the same time and my name is ryann. Reply Kierstin Feb 18 at 1:15 pm We love Ryann! I have always LOVED cute boy names for girls and suggested Ryann one day to my husband. He was unsure at first but started calling her it inutero and then that was her name! We added the extra n to make it more feminine and differentiate from Ryan. Reply Christian Jan 17 at 9:51 pm I named her after her father whose middle name was Ryan and added a N to make it more feminine. I do regret adding the extra N sometimes because some people pronounce it as Ry Ann. Her middle names are Juanita Ilene, after both of my great-Grandmas and my Grandmother. Reply Melodie Apr 22 at 12:48 pm Pronounced like the boys name Ryan. We loved the name Ryan for a girl, so we added an extra N at the end.
