We know one Rainy, and one person with the middle name of Rain. As a nature-lover–and as a big fan of rainy days–I am especially fond of this name. I don’t imagine myself shortening it, but Ray/Rae could be a suitable nickname. I love that this name is extraordinarily rare, but it’s not too “out there” in terms of unusualness. Reply Rainnie Jun 21 at 5:45 am I love the name, too!! Rainnie Reply Rainy Aug 13 at 8:53 pm Thank u! I’ve been seriously considering changing my name here at 20 years old because I always hated enunciating it for others and it felt sad… it also felt childish but seeing it’s rarity I’m kinda stoked! I like me days as well lol Reply Rainy Jun 14 at 11:59 pm I too wanted to change my when I was younger. Not only was I tired of spelling it out or comparing myself to a weather mans forecast but also because of the childish sometimes cruel taunts i suffered throughout my school years. I felt like I was destine to be different from everyone an outcast because of my one of a kind name (well .17 out of every 100,000 people). However, as I’ve matured I have learned to embrace my name to the point that I get very offended if its mispronounced and/or misspelled. Since falling in love with my unique personality its feels like any other name for me is too dull or just plain in comparison. Also, how cool is it that only a few hundred (729) have ever been given our name. Also, it is a 100% female when spelled as ours ….not one male has ever been named Rainy spelled Rainy. I’m glad though I’ve had the chance to meet another lady as lucky as I for I was sure I never would. With that said ….It’s a pleasure to meet you Rainy and you have a beautiful name!!! Reply Rainy Feb 27 at 2:49 pm I guess I’m the male Rainy in the world Reply Rainy B Jan 31 at 7:43 am You said everything and more !
