I loved the name Pippa so much that I decided to name my daughter after her. I think I just love the fact that she is a badass in the book that my daughter will be badass in real life. I need that for my daughter because she needs to know that no one can kick her down. I love my daughter Pippa! She was a frisky little thing when she came out too! Reply Valerie Jun 17 at 5:56 pm For us it’s a family association. My mother-in-law and her dad had a great relationship, which was carried on in her relationship with her own son, my husband. Her dad nicknamed her “Pip” and that’s all he ever called her, so in honor of that family legacy my husband always knew that regardless of what we name our daughter, he was going to call her “Pip” too! So we decided that we should name her something that makes sense with Pip as a nickname, and we landed at Pippa. I love the peppy, poppy sound of it, and the royal association with Pippa Middleton doesn’t hurt either! For us, it’s the right balance of a real name that people may have heard before, but without being too common or overused. She’ll likely be the only Pippa in her class all her life!
