We did not find out gender for this baby. So we had to choose a girl and boy name. Both of our fathers names are Donald James. But then a Donald was elected president and we didn’t want to seem like we were naming baby after a political figure. This baby was also our miracle baby. After my husband endured kidney failure, over six years of dialysis, a transplant and lots and lots of medication we were told we probably be would not have a baby and she felt like our little hero after years of wanting to conceive. One translation of Lennon is “little cape”. After learning this I kept seeing the name everywhere. It was a sign. We decided to use the name regardless of gender. She’s a girl and I like the name more for a girl.

We were inspired by the name Lennon because of the singer Lennon Stella. We wanted a gender neutral name, and I love that she has such a pretty, feminine voice, but with a unique, unisex name that’s not too different. We also like the Beatles, but she wasn’t named after John Lennon! I also found out the the name Lennon is of English/Irish origin that means “lover” which is really nice!

  I chose this name for my son because growing up I was a big fan of the Beetles’, only later did I find out it was intended for girls. I still love the name regardless, it was definitely the right choice for our son!

It was after John Lennon, also was 2 syllables, and ended in ON

I chose Lennon because I felt it was unique and not over used (yet). And because growing up I was a huge Beatles fan. (If she was a boy her name would have Harrison after George Harrison)
