Share Your Thoughts 3 Comments Jodielyn “Jodi” Hill Hewatt Jun 12 at 7:39 am My Father, Jodie, was a Handsome Successful & Respected Businessman. My Parents named me after him but added Lyn making it a feminine version. I was approximately 8-10 y/o when school friends dropped the Lyn & called me Jodi. I dropped the “e” to differentiate Me from My Father. I never really liked my name thinking of it as a Boy’s name but as a Middle aged Adult, I Research the Name Jodi & could see many of the Name’s Traits in Myself. I became proud of my name! Reply Jodie Jan 13 at 6:55 pm I love my name and how it is spelled. I rarely meet another Jodie, of any spelling. I was never identified in school by anything other than just my name, because I was the only one. I always feel sorry for kids were identified by names like, “tall Jackson“, “short Jackson”, “Jackson with boots”…or whatever is the going nom du jour. I am closer now to 60 than 50 years old, and I always feel like Jodie is a young sounding name. It so matches my personality….in my mind I am a 27 year old hip flower child. Reply Jodie Jul 1 at 11:39 am My mother told me that she didn’t want to spell my name “Jodi” because she could imagine me dotting the i with a little heart. This is such a silly and harmless thing, which is still possible with the “Jodie” spelling. So now my name has “DIE” at the end which I can’t stand. Just something to consider for anyone who is thinking of this name. Reply Share your thoughts on the name Jodie Cancel ReplyYour email address will not be published.
