  1. We didn’t have a name for our surprise baby, and our at the time 3 year old told us we were gonna have a baby named Eliza. My husband and I didn’t hate the name and couldn’t agree on anything else, so here we are.

  2. I had actually loved another name, Camelia, that I thought I wanted to use for our girl. However, I had had a loss before this pregnancy and just couldn’t connect that name to this pregnancy. I just felt like it’s time had passed. So I started searching for other unique floral names and came across a type of roses called Eliza. My grandmother’s name was Elizabeth, so it all suddenly fit.

  3. Eliza is such a spunky, yet classy name. Our daughter goes by Lizy with a long i sound.

  4. We liked Elijah and we’re convinced it was a boy, so when our GIRL popped out, we chose Eliza! We love the character of Elijah in the Bible and how God sustains him throughout his life. I had a previous miscarriage less than 2 months before getting pregnant with Eliza and it was so helpful to remind myself that the Lord was sustaining this little life one day at a time. Now that she is here, we are also trusting in the Lord to sustain us day to day as raiding our first child is no easy task!

  5. We chose Eliza because we wanted an E name that was biblically powerful, cute, and different.

We have 2 kids with a name that starts with a Z and one with an E. Now we are even LOL!

  6. We just loved the name and the strong women in history who shared it!

  7. We chose Eliza Corie because it’s a combination our middle names – mine is Elizabeth and my my husband’s is Corey (he wanted her to have -ie because it’s more feminine). We also love the musical Hamilton, and the part where Eliza sings “I put myself back in the narrative” had personal significance to me.

  8. We chose Eliza because it was an older name that we really liked. We also chose it partly because we didn’t know many people that are named Eliza.

  9. We loved the name and the meaning- “the Lord is my oath.”

  10. I really like this name (it’s my name) it fits in to the lots of E names my age but it’s also unique.

  11. It took us forever to find a name. It was important to me that her middle name be Ruth after my Nana who passed when I was very young. The other important thing to me was it have a strong meaning and be somewhat unique.
My husband randomly came across Eliza and we both loved it. The meaning is so amazing God is my Oath. Also his grandmothers name is Elisabeth and Eliza is short for Elizabeth so we got both grandmas in on her name! Eliza Ruth sounds so great together and goes great with our last name!

  12. We loved that it was short and unique but not strange!

  13. We chose Eliza because it is an older name, and not used much. We like Eliza because it is an E name and so is her last name and we like how it sounds together.

  14. Eliza was my grandmothers middle name. My Nana is a very special lady and she means the world to me. I’ve always loved her middle name and thought this would be the perfect way to honor her.
Marie is my mother’s middle name and is a family name on my husbands side and we thought it fit perfect with Eliza ?
