  1. We loved both names Elia and Iliana, so we thought putting them together sounded beautiful. Little did we know that was already a real name. Once we found out that in Hebrew it meant, God answers, we were even more in love.

  2. I had a miscarriage in August 2023 and my husband and I were devastated. I prayed fervently every day since the miscarriage for another baby and God answered my prayers, I got pregnant again in October 2023. That is why we named our girl Eliana — God answered.

I love how her name sounds, it’s very girly, elegant, and cute.

We love her name very much, and she’ll also always know she is loved because of her name 🙂

  3. Actually we asked an A.I to make a name by combining Helena and Elizabeth with Hebrew origin.
    It gave us Eliana!

  4. We love the name Eliana! However, we eeee not able to use the name due to initials. We went with Aliana (nn Allie), which we fell in love with, as well!

  5. My partner and I chose the name Eliana because it is a mixture of both our names. Partner’s name is Elissa and mine being Carolina. It also means God sent and having a baby is something that we had been wanting and had been trying for a while. so she is definitely God sent.

  6. In Hebrew, it means “God has answered.” I had prayed, telling God I was concerned my fiance and I may not be right for one another and unsure that I should be helping raise his daughter because I felt I was overstepping. God answered by sending us a beautiful little girl. He also answered my prayers when 77 hours after an induction was started I was at 10 cm. This was after refusing a C section repeatedly, being in back labor for days, spending most of the last 24 hours on all fours (baby couldn’t tolerate other positions), running a fever around hour 75 and being unable to change positions on my own. I was too weak to roll over and felt I was too weak to push. I prayed. He answered. A little less than one hour into pushing, I was told to stop because the doc was in OR and the midwife was also occupied. About 15 minutes later she entered this world. I couldn’t have push her out without His help.

  7. From Hebrew origin, meaning God answered me!

  8. I had a miscarriage and had names that baby Samuel, which means “God has heard”. Two years later I was elated/scared to find out I was pregnant again. When I found out she was a girl I was even more excited, as I already had 2 boys and one girl, and wanted my daughter to have a sister. I instantly loved the name and the way it sounds, but what sealed it was the meaning. Samuel – God has heard, Eliana – God has answered. Her name is Eliana Louise, and she’s 8 years old now. She was born July 9th 2014.

  9. It means “God answered our prayer”. We chose this name for one because it starts with an E, we liked it and the meaning confirmed the name. We tried for over a year praying to conceive a child and we finally. Our prayer was answer.

Someone I worked with briefly had that name, and I think I saw it online somewhere looking through names and thought it sounded pretty and the name means “God has answered” and I had intensely prayed last year that I might meet someone have children soon, and I met my boyfriend and got pregnant shortly after that, so it seemed appropriate. And it was one of the few names my boyfriend and I both liked

  15. I love the meaning of eliana, it means God has answered, she really the answered prayer for us.

  16. Love. We named our little sweetheart Aliana because the first initial E does not go with our last name. Aliana/Eliana are so graceful and classy in my opinion.

God bless your family. Every little Eliana is very very loved and blessed

      • After 6miscarriages, 4single and 2multiple(twins) all of which would be over 4months and 5months respectively, i went through alot of suffering, stress, depression. Literaly i lost my self, i am glad i had supporting in laws and my great family. I was advised to give a break to concieving again since all my miscarriages i would end in theatre. Deep in my heart i said i cant rest with out a child, i have faith, i have my God. So i prayed to God for the grace to take me through, i asked God that if i concieve again i will only step inthe theatre only when Iam giving birth. To cut story short, i concieved and from when i was 4months pregant i kept on a complete bedrest, with the support of my husband and young sister i wd only leave the house while they are are holding me for my antenatals, it was a very tough journey i walked with God. I searched for the name i wd call my daughter that means God has answered my prayer. Name “Eliana” popped up

God is faithful, he answers prayers. I and my husband are glad we also have a child in our home.

I am planning to write abook for what i went through is a lot and God answered me.
May be my testimony will help some one

  19. It means “gift from God” which she definitely was for us as she wasn’t planned, and we were young and scared, but ended up being exactly what we needed (God knew and had a plan). It’s a more of a rare and beautiful name and I love the nickname “Ellie“.

  20. Eliana means my God has answered. After suffering two miscarriages, needing surgery to clean up endometriosis and a cyst, we got pregnant again and found this name. The perfect prayer and sentiment of our heart. Eliana Marie

  23. The name Eliana means “my God has answered”. We had a miscarriage last year so Eliana is our rainbow baby so we just felt that it was very fitting because she is our little answered prayer. ? The Hebrew meaning of this name is “God has answered” and he has in so many ways during this pregnancy and my labor and birth. During the pregnancy, we didn’t know the sex of the baby, and I prayed about what the name was to be. Even though I had this name chosen for a girl, I wanted to be sure it would be the right name for this girl (if it was a girl). He answered and confirmed that it was. During the labor we prayed about the different circumstances and He answered in different ways, providing peace in the uncertainties, providing the right medical team, and supportive reminders. She is definitely living up to her name from the beginning of her life. I am excited to see how else it will be fulfilled as she grows.

    • I feel the same way, but am yet to confirm the gender.

  30. Eliana sounded beautiful and is Hebrew for “My God has answered.” When baby was born, she required a full resucitation and a ventilator, so I cried out to God, “Please breathe life back into her.” He did, so I knew that the name Eliana was perfect for her.

  32. I chose Eliana’s name because it means “My God has spoken” and she was very much an answered prayer for our family. The only thing that bugs me about her name is when people pronounce it incorrectly, usually as Elaina.

    • My daughter’s name is Eliana and there’s a lady who almost always pronounces it illiana and it makes me wish I’d chosen a different name for her but besides that I love them name! Lol. She is also called elaina a lot by nurses etc.

      • My daughter’s name is Eliana Joy.

  36. I was looking for a name to go with the middle name AnneMarie (tribute to my new husband’s late grandmother/best friend) and it was also important that it be meaningful. Eliana has a Hebrew meaning and it’s “my God has answered.” I love the beautiful breathy sound of the name and the way it rolls off the tongue. God knew the prayer of my heart, one that I could never speak without feeling a sense of loss or even betrayal and that prayer was to have a partner to raise my children with and not to go through life grieving and alone. The husband of my youth (10 beautiful years and four gorgeous children) was killed in Afghanistan and many years later, my children and I have been blessed to find a wonderful man who blesses our lives daily. God answered my prayer and then some when our daughter Eliana joined our family on September 10th, 2018.

  37. Means: God has answered
