  7. I work as a behavior therapist for children with ASD. One of my more challenging patients was named Athena, after the Greek Goddess of Wisdom and War. Despite other therapists struggles with her, she and I had an intense bond. I never thought I could enjoy a patient as much as the first boy I worked with(who could also be quite challenging in his own ways), but this little girl proved me wrong every day. She was brilliant and feisty, so much fun to spend time with, and perfectly embodied her name. When I learned I was pregnant with a baby girl, the name Athena was immediately at the top of our list(thank goodness my husband liked it too!) and when I met my baby I knew that this was her name by the 3rd day we spent together.
