  1. I read the name in the book, The Hiding Place. I thought it was beautiful. I made the spelling simpler for my daughter. It means, “graced with God’s bounty” and my Annalise is so sweet and generous.

  2. Her father loves Halloween time and he looked up the most excorsied women (at 67 times) her name was Anneliese, she went by Anna. But I didn’t want her to have an odd spelling and deal with that all her life like I did haha.

  3. We like the name because of the meaning ” graced with Gods bounty” and how it flows so niclely off the lips when you say it!

  4. I love my name! I am the youngest of nine girls and my oldest sister named me because I was born on her Birthday:)

  5. I decided to name her Annalise because my father suggested it.

  6. Graces with God’s bounty or fullness; oath or promise from God ?

  7. I like the name??

  8. I am Annalise but I don’t see my name correctly spelled I want to know what my name Annalise means

    • OMG IM ALSO ANNALISE AND IVE NEVER MET ANOTHER ?

  9. Annalise Zara means Graced with Gods bounty, flower or seed and another name meaning is favored princess.
We love her name and the fact it’s very strong and are so thankful for a baby girl as our first daughter is in heaven.

  10. It was the only name we could agree on! We love that it has the flexibility to turn into Anne, Anna or Elise, depending on what she chooses later in life. And it’s always fun to have a beautiful long name. 🙂

  11. I first heard the name from the show “How to Get Away with Murder” and thought it was pretty. My grandmother’s name is Anna and my mom’s name is Lisa, so I thought it was a perfect way to pay tribute to both of them. Also, Anne Frank’s full name was “Annelies” and I’ve always loved history, specifically learning about The Halocaust so that was another special way the name felt right to me. It’s also not a common name which was important to me.

  12. We actually spell it Annalyse and pronounce On-na-lease.
Originally her name was going to be Ilyse, it is the German equivalent to Elise. My favorite Beethoven composition is “Fur Elise.” But my mother came up with Annalyse after combining Ilyse and Annastasia(my middle name, pronounced On-na-stay-sha) together. We didn’t know it was a name until later down the road.
She/we get compliments on her name all the time and how beautiful it is, and I couldn’t agree more.
