It also means ‘sweet-faced’ and when we got the chance to see her for the very first time we thought it was very fitting. Reply Anika Aug 24 at 3:33 pm It’s a very difficult name for people to actually pronounce. Mine is pronounced (ah-nee-kuh) and it gets called out every way except the way mine is. Love how unique it used to be, now it’s a very popular name! Reply Erra Jan 31 at 4:20 am My sister name is also Anika and my parents named her in the year 2011 at that time it was actually very rare and unique but now mostly Anika ones changes their name in the years of 2018-2021, but the one who name Anika from the start should be proud Reply Olivia Oct 4 at 11:38 pm Well actually, Anika is not a popular name Reply Chelsea Jul 23 at 11:08 am I wanted a name that had three syllables, ended in an “ah” sound, was relatively rare, and extra feminine to match her other sisters’ names (Sariah and Ohana). Extra bonus, Anika has Norwegian – Russian – Swedish influences to honor both my heritage (which we only recently learned because I am adopted), and my husband’s late mother, Annette, who died when he was two. My second daughter was born on the 30 year anniversary of her death and Anika was due about six days before her birthday. The only thing I don’t like about it, is that it’s so similar to her sisters we often call her the wrong thing. Reply Anika Jun 9 at 11:14 am My Name is Anika so Hi! Reply Natalie Sep 3 at 9:20 pm Anika means favor or grace, and we talk about the favor of God a lot in our family. It’s also Sweden (or Hebrew) which goes along with my husband’s Scandinavian heritage. Reply Tiana Aug 16 at 10:30 am I downloaded a name combining app on my phone and I’ve always told everyone I know that I want my children to have meaning behind there names. I combined my mother(Annette) and my fiance’s mother’s(Karen) names together to get Anika. It’s actually Anika-Rae. I hyphenated it because my fiance’s name is also hyphenated. And Rae comes from my bestfriends middles name Rae. I love that I have gotten so much positive feedback about her name as well. Reply Julia Nov 13 at 3:39 am My three month old is named Anika with the middle name Rae! Reply Share your thoughts on the name Anika Cancel ReplyYour email address will not be published.
