  1. my parents chose my name ( aliyah ) bcs my mom said it was the only name my parents could agree on and also it is an arabic name ( which i am indeed arabic from my father ) so its super important that we keep that arabic name going in the family bcs of in loving memory of my gpa who died of a heart attack in 2019.

Aliyah is actually her second name, her first is Naledi then Aliyah, Naledi means Star and Aliyah means Exalted, so she’s my little Exalted Star, she’s my little shinning Star and she proves that everyday, she came at a time I thought depression would rear it’s ugly little head again which I honestly felt coming but then came out little princess and changed my entire life including my perspective of life.

We also don’t live in America and we needed a name that made sense and was pronounceable in all 3 cultures we live in. We love this name! She has a couple nicknames from friends and brothers, A-lili and Aloosh.
