I am a hawaiian mom of 7 to Alaska, CeCe, Portlyn, Koa, Envi, Bayr, and Paisleigh! I had no clue what to name my first kid. My ultimate choices for a girl name was Crystal and the boy’s name would be Charlee. I found out I was having a girl and decided on Crystle, and I decided to change the spelling up. The DAY before I was giving birth to my baby, I ended up changing the name to Alaska. The baby next door was wailing and crying, but I heard the mom crying “my beautiful Alaska” and I knew I HAD to name her that! Now my beautiful Alaska is currently 11, CeCe is 10, Portlyn is 8, Kai is 6, Envi is 4, Bayr is 2, and Paisleigh is 8 months. Reply erin Feb 8 at 12:27 pm i had my first daughter in 2020. i named her alaska rain because i thought it was beautiful, unique, & the perfect name for my child. i spent my whole early adulthood traveling & living in a camper van, & i hope she’s always just as wild & free spirited as she is now, just like her mama Reply Alaska's mom Jun 15 at 5:09 pm I was struggling finding a baby name for my daughter, when I was looking at baby room photo ideas I saw the name Alaska I was so surprised because I thought it was a beautiful unique rare name and I love unique pretty names I wanted to name her Alaska, and I did! Reply Rachael Sep 26 at 8:01 pm We chose this name not only for it’s uniqueness, but also because when we think of Alaska, we are think of the beautiful landscape, wildlife, and snow ?. I love everything about her name and I would not have chosen anything else. The ONLY down side is that I get a lot of unwanted questions and comments from people. But I do also receive a lot of compliments as well, so I guess it all balances out. My Alaska fits her name perfectly. She is wild, beautiful, and free-spirited. She is also independent and loving.
