But the more I heard it, the more it grew on me! We wanted a strong name, but something that wasn’t terribly common. I love that there is no nickname for Thor either, it is what it is! Reply April Aug 21 at 5:41 am It was encridibly happy when i saw my baby the for the first time. Reply Shelby Jun 18 at 11:12 am We had a hard time picking a boy’s name and chanced upon Thorr in a baby name book. I am about 50% Norwegian and Swedish so the name pays homage to my heritage, and his middle name is from my husband’s family. Thor was born right around the time of the marvel movies, and I don’t have much interest in the character so I do say sometimes that it’s not about the movies. He also had trouble telling his name when he was four, because everyone always assumed he was just saying his age again, thanks to that little kid lisp!
