But in the end my husband and I got over that hang up and used it anyway. Besides liking the sound and look of the name, we think it goes well with our other kids’ names which are all known names that are easy to pronounce but are not currently popular. Hubby and I are both blonde so our kids all have varying shades of blonde hair, and Linus means “flaxen,” a shade of pale yellow often used to describe hair colour. Linus also has a lot of great character associations for my husband and I. As devout Catholics, it’s a nod to the second Pope – Pope St. Linus; the Oceans movies are favourites of hubby’s, and feature Matt Damon playing the character of Linus Caldwell; and then of course there’s Linus of Peanuts fame, and who doesn’t love that blanket dragging cutie pie? Reply Sarann Sep 18 at 1:32 pm I has a dream 3 months before we conceived that I had a baby boy named “Linus Jay” we did not keep the middle name but I LOVED the name Linus. I love that it’s unique but still recognizable! Reply Share your thoughts on the name Linus Cancel ReplyYour email address will not be published.
