  1. After months of mystery this name came to my husband the night I was in labor, he kept it quiet because he knew I was set on another name because nothing else captured the energy I was feeling. I knew it had to be a literary figure and had to be connected with water. I wanted Caspian, my husband hated it. When my son was born my husband said, what about Dorian? I looked it up and found it’s rich Greek history and meaning, Dorios also means children of the sea. He was born with dark skin and the cutest dimple. So, Dorian it was. We are are part Hispanic so the diminutive of it would be Dorito, which we thought was hilarious and adorable. Also, his older brother is named Salvador, when you put them together you get Salvadorian, it was meant to be. His nickname is Dodi which is how you would pronounce Dori in Spanish.

  2. We wanted something unique but not something our child would hate us for. My husband suggested it, and I suggested Quinn for a middle name. We weren’t set on it until the day he was born, but that’s how we choose to name out kids. We like to see the face before making the final decision.
There wasn’t a specific reason why we chose his name, other than trying to break the family tradition on my husband’s side of naming all the kids with the same first letter and not having a family name. We just like being different.
