  1. My fiance and myself said his name simultaneously when we discussed that we had to choose his name now. Bc for 9 months we just couldn’t decide and we were sitting in the hospital after just giving birth to this precious 6 lb 9 oz blessing from above and we knew we had to finally decide on one name. So when we both said, Cayden without a second thought. We knew the difficult decision was finally over! His name is Cayden William. William is his middle name after my grandfather because he was born on his birthday!

  2. I like that’s it’s not overly common yet it’s not overly unusual either.
I like the hard consonants with my married last name, especially C&K.

I don’t think there’s anything that I dislike about the name, but some people may not like the lack of nicknames that come with it.

  3. I named my second Boy Cayden in 1999 after I heard the male commentator of the Rose Bowl parade tell his family hello and Happy New Year. His son being Caden. We spelled it with a Y because my son’s mom spells her name Wyndie. I thought the meaning fighter was perfect. Ironically, my oldest sons name is Tyson.

  4. Our daughter actually picked it out. We thought it was cute especially since her name is Charlotte, now they’ll have the same initials.

  5. I love this name

  6. We wanted a name that was a little different so he wouldn’t be one of 10 in his class but not so different that people would roll their eyes. We went into delivery with 3 options and decided on Cayden when we saw his face!

  7. It’s a strong name

  8. I chose the name Cayden because it means fighter. By him being a black male in America he was going to need a good strong name. And finding out that he has Sickle Cell disease gives his name so much more of a meaning for him.

  9. Hi Genevieve!

My son’s first name is Cayden and his middle name is Donald (after my Dad). I picked Cayden because I was artificially inseminated and when I was looking on a site (don’t remember which one?) for names I said to my Dad in my head (he passed away a few years before I got pregnant) “Okay Dad help me pick a name for your grandson!”. The first one that popped out after going through the As and Bs was Cayden. I wanted a name with a strong meaning. The meaning of Cayden on this site was “fighter”. I figured since he will have no Dad he will have to be a fighter (hopefully not physically, but mentally). Fighters are strong and he will need to be without a Dad to help raise him. I didn’t look any further after that. That was his name. Then out of curiosity I looked it up in a names book a friend had and in the book the meaning was “friend/companion”. Along with being a fighter I also want him to be kind and sweet so “friend/companion” was a perfect meaning along with fighter.

I picked that name the night I found out I was pregnant which was two weeks after being inseminated and never thought of changing it throughout my whole pregnancy.
