  1. Augustus is our first born. We have called him “Auggie” since before he was born, and truly love both names! Augustus–one worthy of respect. And Auggie–a playful nickname that always made us think of someone who would be a great friend.

  2. I chose Augustus because of my favorite person in the world and the kast name is actually a portmanteau of my partner and my last names. Also, I love it for the heros journey aspect.

  3. We chose Augustus because we liked the nickname potential. We can call him Auggie, Gus, or any variety of nicknames based on those. He also just looks like an Augustus. It was one of 3 name options we had picked out and waited until after delivery to decide.

  4. Birth is painful but its worth it

  5. Great

  6. Augustus Voss was the first immigrant in my husbands family to come to the US.

  7. My baby’s name is Augustus Eugene, his daddy is a huge lonesome dove fan, so Augustus has always been his name, before we even knew about him! And Eugene is my husbands late grandfathers middle name. He’s a special boy, and we call his Gus?

  8. Mighty, big name. Loved it?

  9. My son’s middle name is Augustus named after a main character in the western movie Lonesome Dove. “Gus” is a main cowboy character and I grew up a cowgirl (rodeo). My dad is a huge western film and book fan, and I first watched Lonesome Dove as a young kid. It’s such a fantastic, classic story. My dad calls him Gus, and he can choose to go by that when he gets older if he wants.

    • That is so funny our little boy is named after Augustus after Augustus McCall also!
