   I’m just blown away by this video! Dad was an amazing birthing coach/catcher. Nice job! I have 3 children. The first 2 were born at home, on purpose. The 3rd baby was a planned home birth but, we ended up in the hospital. My 2nd baby was an unassisted home birth. Our midwife didn’t make it either. My entire labor was only 2 hours, pushed one time and all 10 lbs of him popped out. My babies were big boys….8lbs 7oz up to 10lbs. All 3 labor times combined was only 11 hours. Your midwife said almost the exact same thing as mine did. Baby Faith sounded a little gurgley at first but, I’ve heard that several times over the years as a doula. You guys did an awesome job!

   Oh my goodness! I absolutely love the partnership you and your husband have. My second baby is due any day now. We had a homebirth with our first (was born in Bathroom on all 4’s as well), where our midwives barely made it in time. Now we live a hour away, and your video inspired me if for some reason they can’t make it in time. Thanks for all that you do for all of us. I totally teared up watching your birth. Beautiful!❤️??❤️ Hoping my husband will be as calm. Wow!

   I am expecting my first baby and I have been a bit timid in regards to watching birth videos thinking it will make me scared of what is to come…after I read how much you mentioned God in the intro, I felt it was a sign that I should watch! It wasn’t scary or “too much” – quite the opposite. So beautiful to watch, I teared up. You are portraying a lot of the good that can happen in birth. I am so happy to have stumbled upon this video!    So beautiful watching this amazing home birth. Surely God is faithful. I actually had my 3rd child on the 29/09/2018. He was post date and I ended up being induced at the hospital, but thankfully it all came through quickly, started induction at 1:30am and baby was out at 3:55am.

   I’m so thankful for your video. I watched it as I planned my home birth, thinking that would never happen to me. Then in June we welcomed our second child and he came so fast that my husband caught him, my doula arrived 10 min later and midwife about 45 min later. We had my midwife on the phone so she was guiding us on what to do. I knew my Labor was hard and progressed fast but didn’t realize how fast until I had urge to push. I really wanted to know that feeling after a long long Labor in hospital with first (still natural but they were counting for me while pushing and I pushed for 2 hours). Got to experience that plus doing it by ourselves just my husband and I. My water broke at 11:15 pm and baby was here by 3:42a. I kept thinking of your video and still saying “no way this is happening to me” but comforted that I had seen what it was like before experiencing myself. So thank you!!

    So awesome! I found your work midway through my pregnancy last year and am so grateful. I birthed my son October 14th without pain medication, 30 hour labor! It was a bit crazy but looking back I am so relieved to have reached my goal ?? Thank you for inspiring us mamas to trust our bodies and to take back our births.

You inspired and helped me to have a natural birth center birth with my second, and almost exactly 2 years ago we had an unplanned unassisted homebirth as well, our midwives arrived 5 minutes after baby and coached daddy via speaker phone.     My Mary Cassandra rushed into this world just over 5 years ago. She was our 6th child and my favorite birth story. The midwife arrived and stood in the bedroom doorway as I caught her in my own hands. <3 Like you, our children slept through the entire thing (well, except the 18 month old who needed put back to sleep by daddy right after his sister was born). It was beautiful to just have my husband there.

    Dang, I’m definitely eating those dates when my time comes haha! God bless your calm and confident husband! My husband delivered all three of our children at home with the midwife present, but was never so unafraid, gentle and deliberate as yours. Wow! I had to laugh about the mucus plug and you saying “cool” after he showed it to you. Hands and knees was by far my favorite birthing position. Supposedly helps minimize tearing, and I can attest to that. My midwife said my vagina looked beautiful afterwards- minimal swelling and no tears. Hopefully that was your experience too! Congrats! Those first few days postpartum are totally blissful.

    Congratulations! Wow, this is almost exactly how my second birth went. 4 hours, in the middle of the night, my son slept through everything. The midwife didn’t make it until 10 minutes after to deliver the placenta. I gave birth on hands and knees while my husband caught our girl Grace. Watching your video just brought all those beautiful memories back!

    This is so beautiful! Brought tears to my eyes. I actually just gave birth to my 3rd baby on July 3rd. He was also 7 lbs 10 oz, was only a 3 1/2 hour labor, and was a home birth as well! Although thankfully my midwife was present 🙂 So happy for you and your beautiful family!

My last was a home birth and it was such an incredible experience. Mine lasted about 4 hours and my kids were able to be there.     I love this! I actually had a crazily similar birth story from my 2nd which I had 3 months ago. I woke up about 1:45 am with mild contractions and thought no big deal since my first was a 26 hr labor….so I didn’t call the midwife til 3 am and she had me get up after I called so I went to the toilet to do my business and while doing my doo my water broke and I transitioned and then I managed to kneel down and flop over my lazy boy and started pushing….well my husband helped me downstairs to our guest room and I kneeled down on the floor and flopped over the guest bed. Well I could start feeling the baby’s head so my husband caled the midwife and let her know and then he helped me deliver our beautiful little girl at 4:45 am. He gave her to me and I laid back on the bed and the midwife got there about 15 minutes later to help deliver the placenta and clean up. My little boy slept through the whole thing and didn’t wake up til almost 7am. It was such an amazing lightning birth and I think it’s so cool you had such a similar experience!

    Que the tears! You’re a ROCK STAR! I’m pregnant with my second child, the first was a miscarriage. I’m 24 weeks pregnant today. The closer I get to my due date, the more fearful I become. I know fear isn’t from God but giving birth freaks me out. I know it’s going to be painful. Who signs up for pain? I know it’ll all be worth it in the end… I’m totally inspired.       Don’t be afraid! You can totally do this! Pain is subjective and pain and hard work look the same on our faces and sound the same out of our mouths. This is why I normally don’t watch birth videos- it doesn’t feel how it looks. I promise!

    This makes me in awe of you, and reminds me all over again how AMAZING women are and what we can do!
    Having had 4 natural births of my own, honestly as I watch you in transition and pushing, I feel really nauseous and want to throw up as it brings up the memories of my own births (I also birth on hands and knees and caught one of my own children!) I can practically feel the ring of fire HA!
    But then to see you so happy and rocking that baby just minutes after delivering her, brings so much JOY to my heart and reminds me that this is a normal process- even if we don’t feel that while we are going through it! Only a mother could get right down to rockin’ a baby to calm her just after pushing her out! Only something other-worldly could bring so much joy after so much hard work.
    It’s hard to sit with the pain even just watching you, but it is OK to be there in childbirth. And your husband did great supporting you! It’s fun to have those stories of each birth.
    Enjoy your beautiful baby and family- the greatest gifts.

    My unassisted homebirth went almost exactly the same way, only my early labor was much longer. Felt like Braxton Hicks. And I was in denial when the pushing contractions started, so I didn’t push. I “labored down” another 30 minutes. Was on the phone with my midwife freaking out and then he was suddenly crowning. Threw the phone down and caught him standing up. I’m actually soooo excited you got to experience that, especially as a natural mama. Definitely wasn’t my plan either, but it was the most primal, empowering experience ever.

    Oh, and he was also my third. Third babies are the wild cards. Nobody warned me either. 😉

I’m expecting baby eleven in about 12 weeks and can totally relate to the whirlwind that is a fast labor and delivery baby nine came in one hour from 1st contraction to birth with no pushing she came out with my water when my water broke… and baby number ten was out in about two and a half hours with two pushes he came sideways with his hand up on his forehead “) can’t wait to see what this little guy is going to do on labor day!!

    Incredible birth. Thank you for sharing so much of your journey. God is faithful in and through all things. I’m unexpectantly expecting (♥️) my 5th baby. We had two medicated hospital births, one unmedicated birth at a free standing birth cottage (yes, it was called that), and welcomed our 4th child at home, en caul, in a beautiful unmedicated water birth. We wonder, what’s our next mountain? Always a climb, but so worth it when you summit.

    So beautiful! My labor started around midnight but like you became more regular around 1am! Contractions were longer and more intense around 3am, when I called the midwife but my little man wasn’t born until 7:55am, on September 26th!     Oh, Genevieve. I am so, so proud of you. I honor your honesty, vulnerability and sharing of your most personal and truly sacred birth of Faith with us. Thank you. You delivered your beautiful girl, your faithful and loving husband was there to attend to you and catch her, your kids slept (what?!) and you had this moment alone. Like so many of us who have been on the journey with you for varying numbers of years (I think I’m at 10 now) I cried for all it means to have the birth experience: from maybe throwing up, to feeling vulnerable, to stating what you needed, to deeply groaning from the depths of your being. The primal pain. It’s been some time since I’ve regularly tuned in so I’d like to add that it’s a joy to see Griffin and Paloma as they grow. Especially with Grif as my son is now 12 and to see our boys with their strong young bodies is an ongoing miracle. Again, thank you for the love to us, to me. I shine it back to you.     Crying. Had a beautiful VBAC a little over a year ago after what I now know was an unnecessary c section with my first. I read and followed your book, took hypnobirthing classes, had a wonderful doula, and trusted my body. I gestate long, labor long, and have big babies. Having confidence in my body to birth allowed me to let my baby come when he was ready. 42 weeks, 36 hours of consistent labor, and 9lbs 3 oz of goodness 🙂 Watching video’s like this remind us that birth does not need to be a medical event and we need to trust our bodies and babies <3 Thank you!

     This was just beautiful!! I had a planned daddy assisted home birth in January with #11,a little girl Alexandria Joan Hope. Pretty similar to yours, roughly about 3&1/2 hours. Good thing we were prepared for having her at home like that, there was no time to get to the hospital. Shhhh don’t tell my husband that after watching this it gave me baby fever for number 12(he’s the one this time with baby fever and I keep telling him maybe in a few more years….)

It was so much like your birth even down to the 3 hour labor and suddenly being farther along than I thought. It was a homebirth and we also ended up delivering before the midwife got here.      I watched as I am laying feeding my 2 1/2 month old, and I balled throughout almost the entire thing!!! That was absolutely incredible to see. So wonderful that you were able to videotape the entire thing. I wish more women did! What a wonderful, amazing birth story! Three hours, my goodness! My labor was three days ? and I was dilated to a 7 for at least 17 hours before I got an epidural because I knew I couldn’t go on longer otherwise… thanks so much for documenting your Beautiful story!

     Love this. I’m 41+1 with my third right now and my last baby was an accidental unassisted home birth. We were trying to make it to the hospital but a quick potty stop before getting in the car escalated quickly. haha I’ve been feeling very anxious waiting for this baby and I’ve had lots of comments from other people about being induced or “aren’t you going to go to the hospital sooner this time?” Its so hard to explain to people that even 10 days over due I wasn’t sure I was really in labor until it was too late and had no way of knowing things would go that fast so with this baby I don’t know if I would “go in sooner” because there is no way to know what is really going on until you look back in hindsight. I got another one of those comments this morning and it was so nice to see this video and know that I’m not the only one who has transition sneak up on them! It was really validating for me at this time so thank you for sharing and congratulations!

     Cried throughout this whole video. It’s so similar to my last birth except I wasn’t feeling brave enough to push the baby out until the midwife came 🙂 I have a third on the way and I may just call right at the start.

Watching you in labor was hard…it’s still a little fresh! 😉 But once you pushed her out, I was teary eyed!      Congratulations!!! Faith is beautiful! My daughter gave birth on sept 26 to a beautiful little girl as well. Three days after birth we were informed that Victoria tested positive with PKU. I was wondering if you have any knowledge with this disorder and if so will you be posting any of your wonderful recipes especially treats as she get older that are PKU friendly? Her pregnancy went wonderfully…..and we owe it to your book that she enjoyed so very much. Thank you very much for all you do and share. I really enjoy sharing your thurday emails with my daughter.      That was an awesome homebirth. Parts of it brought me to tears because it reminded me of my baby’s super quick, supernatural birth 3 months ago. Thank you so much for providing so much guidance and advice for me the past five years, through 5 pregnancies and 3 births. My first labor was 23 hours of active labor, and my last, I went from 5 cm to having her in less than an hour— crawling out of the bathroom of my hospital room ? It was definitely supernatural and you were the one who directed me to that book during my second pregnancy, so THANK YOU. I am so touched by your little miracle. ❤️

     Praise the Lord for your supernatural home birth! You’re an inspiration to us women who want to have natural births. I had my 2nd all-natural birth (both in hospitals) 5 months ago and it went very similarly to your 2nd birth (except I was 2 weeks overdue and had to have my water broken to get things rolling). We are going to be trying for one more as soon as our 2nd turns 2! I, too, will be around 40 when giving birth to our last. It’s comforting to know that in spite of popular opinion about having a low risk pregnancy at that age, it’s possible! Amazing your older 2 slept through it all! Our home is very small and all bedrooms share the end of a hallway but I would love to have a home birth! What would you have done if they woke up during it all? Would you have let them stay and observe? Or tell them to go play?!! lol

     My cousin just had her third baby in May. Her baby was born a couple hours after her contractions started. She had a home birth as well. While waiting for her midwives, they were filling up a birth tub and the water was too hot so her husband went to the other room to get a bowl of cold water and while he was gone she felt the need to push. She got one foot into the birth tub and then had to push right then. Only one push, baby came out and she caught the baby herself while husband was still in the kitchen. Midwives got there about 15 mins later, and then her friend who was going to film everything got there after that and said ‘oh darn, I missed it.’ Her husband said ‘yeah, me too.’ The original plan was that the midwives would be there to assist but her husband was going to catch the baby.

     So beautiful. I just had my 4th in March. Natural, but because there are no birthing centers in my area, in a hospital (I’ll never do the hospital again. So stressful) she was 7.10 also, and 20.5” long. I felt like I was pushing when you were! Haha. Thank you so much for sharing. You are such an inspiration to us all.      THAT WAS AMAZING!!!!! Well done Genevieve and Michael! So many similarities to our own #3 birth. Our baby was born 9/17/18 and we barely made it to the birth center- 15 minutes after arriving. The midwife made it 5 minutes before I started pushing. Labor started midnight and she was born 2:35am. I’ve commented before and mentioned that I also had a baby a week after you had Paloma — I’ve been following you guys for years. I’m so happy for your family and thank you for sharing your story! ❤️

     Praise the Lord! How beautiful! You are so right, it’s such a sacred moment for you guys!
     I feel like your “twin” with this birth story…had my second back in January. Planned homebirth at age 43. But it happened so quick (timeline is almost identical to yours) that the midwife didn’t get there but was directing my husband via “phone support.” I don’t even recall feeling transition as she came out so quick and my hubby caught her and he was a rockstar like Michael. Whole process only took about 3.5 hours from my first indication of labor. Midwife arrived after to deliver the placenta and “tidy up” everything. AND my 3 year old slept through the whole thing in the room right next to us!

         Our son was born 4 days after I posted this comment on your page. Came at 38+3, which really surprised me since our first came at 40+5! Labor start to finish was 5 hours (compared to close to 30 with my first)…arrived at the hospital at around 7:30pm, baby was born at 8:57pm. I went from 6cm dilated to fully dilated and pushing in 30 minutes…he arrived fast and furious in the shower after a few pushes completely drug-free! Had an awful experience with the epidural with my first and was so happy to be able to experience natural birth this time around. You were a big inspiration – thank you! Our little ones are about 3 weeks apart ?
