When did you realize you were really in labor?
I had an appointment Thursday morning and my midwife stripped/sweepers my membranes(I was two days past my due date I was 5cm and 80 percent effaced) this is my third pregnancy so I Kinda of skipped early labor by 7 PM I had every strong regular contraction and left home around 10 PM (our hospital is 20 minutes away) at arrival I was 7 cm and 80 percent effaced

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
The hardest part was breathing through the contractions. It was so difficult for me mentally to cope and go through them.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I drank red raspberry leaf tea faithfully. I started at 34 weeks and increased the strength of the brew after 38z my contractions were so productive and powerful. Painful but not like my previous labors(both previous ones I got epidurals) it was manageable . I bought mama natural birth affirmations and recordings and listen to them regularly and throughout my entire labor.

What surprised you about your birth?
I was so surprised I did it. I broke through the threshold I could or think I couldn’t do with my first two. This third labor and delivery were awesome. My baby also in the sac my water broke after her head was out. It was so cool to see. Also was surprised how short of pain the ring of fire is. Natural labor is so rewarding. Also, surprise I can stand and walk after delivery you can’t do that after labor with an epidural.

You can totally do it. I believe In The power of affirmations. God spoke to us and this world into existence and we’re made in his image.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
My husbands counter pressure on my sacrum lower back really took the edge off my contractions
-
What position did you end up delivering in?
I ended up delivering my back squatting on the hospital bed basically because after I got into a room I didn’t want to move I was too consumed getting through each contractions.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
I was in shock and awe. Totally out of body feeling knowing this baby came so quick and in the sac. She had a full head of hair. I was totally in awe in how much black hair she was born with.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
You can totally do it. I believe In The power of affirmations. God spoke to us and this world into existence and we’re made in his image. I believe because of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit I can speak things too with God of course. God is so great and powerful. I told myself I’m going to natural labor over and over and it happened. Get these birth affirmations Genevieve made they are awesome in power
