April 18th at 5:15 a.m. my water broke in bed after sleeping through what I now know was early labor

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Pushing was the most challenging part. I only pushed for 13 minutes though!

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I read super natural childbirth and prayed for a definite sign I was in labor as well as a quick one. I got both!

What surprised you about your birth?
The fact that I was only in labor for 1 hour and 45 minutes after my water broke naturally and This is my first baby!

What pain relief strategies worked best?
I honestly didn’t have time to think about pain relief strategies. I did deliver leaning over the back of the hospital bed so that helped a lot.

What position did you end up delivering in?
I delivered on my knees over the back of the hospital bed

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
The most amazing feeling I’ve ever felt, everything was warm and relieved and magical.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Stay active, eat dates, drink red raspberry leaf tea, and pray!
