What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I went to the chiropractor weekly to keep aligned. I also did some stretches and exercises to have an optimal birth.

If you’re going to deliver in a hospital, labor at home as long as possible. Don’t think about how much pain you’re going to be in. Trust your body because it knows what to do! If you have a loving, supportive husband, keep him by your side. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without my wonderful husband!

What pain relief strategies worked best?
I must of been in labor all night long and didn’t realize it. My first birth I was induced and had horrible back labor so I couldn’t remember what contractions felt like. My stomach hurt all night long and kept waking me up. After my water broke at 6AM the contractions got worse and closer. At this point though I was getting a shower and getting ready. I also had to pack my hospital bag and get our two year old ready. We got to the hospital so late that it was pretty much time to start pushing as soon as I got there. I just kept telling myself that as long as my husband was there to hold my hand that everything was going to be alright and that I could do this.

What position did you end up delivering in?
I delivered laying down.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
There is honestly no better feeling in this world than holding your child for the first time. My heart is so full!
