When did you realize you were really in labor?
A few hours in to 20 minute apart contractions. A kept having consistent bloody show.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
The waiting. I knew there would be a baby soon but I didn’t know how much longer I’d be in labor.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
To truly educate myself on what was actually an emergency.

What surprised you about your birth?
That it was similar to my last. It went by so quick as soon as I hit transition it went so quick!

What pain relief strategies worked best?
The water helped a lot and switching positions when needed.

What position did you end up delivering in?
On my knees in the water with my hands on the side of the pool.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Euphoric. We didn’t know the gender either so it was extra excitement.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Believe in yourself and birth without fear.
