I realized I was in labor at about 8 PM. And as soon as I tried to close my eyes to get some rest I was barely able to sleep through contractions

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
The mama natural blog was one of my top inspirations! Reading other people's stories was so helpful. And I did every single tip that Genevieve recommended. I could not have been happier with the outcome.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Different strategies worked in different stages… In early labor distraction was best. I took a shower at home, I went on a walk, I ate! During active labor, intense focus is what got me through. As soon as I let my mind wander the pain would get unbearable! During transition, it's survival mode! I did whatever it took. Let's just say I didn't have a silent Hypno birth!

What position did you end up delivering in?
I actually delivered in what I thought would be the last position I would ever deliver in! I was lying on the bed- a little tilted on my left side- with my husband and the midwife holding my legs.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
There are no words to describe it! Completely surreal and absolutely blissful.
