When did you realize you were really in labor?
When my water broke and contractions started with a vengeance.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
My first natural birth was 16 hours. This one was 90 minutes! The contractions almost had no break, and it was hard not knowing how long I was going to be having near constant contractions.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I'm a natural childbirth educator, and this was my second natural birth, so I felt pretty prepared. Prayer was definitely got me through my super fast labor.

What surprised you about your birth?
How fast it was, and how big my baby girl was.

Take a childbirth class geared towards natural birth, and pick a care provider who regularly cares for women who are giving birth naturally.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Hands and knees was my most comfortable position. There wasn't much time for anything else.

What position did you end up delivering in?
I tried the tub, but baby got stuck so I delivered on my hands and knees which felt great.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Surreal. I went nearly 2 weeks past my due date, and was starting to feel like I was going to be pregnant forever.
