Just making sure I mentally prepared to imbrace everything that was happening.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Everything I read on Mama Natural! I made sure I stayed fit, I started drinking raspberry leaf tea at 34 weeks, reading and listening to birth affirmations. Eating 6 dates a day, a 30 minute walk every day.

What surprised you about your birth?
How fast my birth was! From start to finish my birth was 2 hours and 59 minutes long. With this being my first baby I expected my labor to be over 24 hours long.

Really commit to a natural birth, don't just dip your toes in go all the way. If you're really committed and believe you can have your baby naturally then you can.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
I didn't feel any real pain til transition, breathing through the contractions and envisioning that every contraction and push was bring my baby closer to me.

What position did you end up delivering in?
Unfortunately I was on my back, she came so fast I didn't have time to understand that it was delivery time.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
In awe and shock, I was 37 weeks along so I was thinking I was go over my due date not have her early. All I could think was I was holding our little answered prayer and she was safe and healthy.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Really commit to a natural birth, don't just dip your toes in go all the way. If you're really committed and believe you can have your baby naturally then you can.
