When did you realize you were really in labor?
About an hour and a half after drinking the "midwives brew"

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Honestly, (TMI moment) it was the hemorrhoid from my second child's birth that hurt the most during my third child's birth.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Hypnobirthing and visualizing my ideal birth scenario. Also continuing my yoga practice and staying active. And proper nutrition was key.
-
What surprised you about your birth?
My daughter (third baby) weighed two whole pounds more than her big brother, and 3 ounces more than her big sister... making her my largest baby. Yet, she appeared to be much smaller. I was shocked that she was that big.

What pain relief strategies worked best?

-
What position did you end up delivering in?
I delivered baby's head in the birthing pool on all fours. But then her shoulder got stuck. So my midwives had me stand up and they helped me get the rest of her body to gently pass through the birth canal. It was blissful and a bit wild all at once.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Like heaven
