What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Making sure my OB and I were on the same page as far as attempting the VBA2C; also, remembering that some circumstances are unpredictable and it's okay to be flexible.
-
What surprised you about your birth?
I never thought I would fall in that 3% statistic of a uterine rupture. My son wasn't breathing when he was born, needed resuscitation and spent time in the NICU. His first 72 of life in the NICU were especially critical. But, praise God, he is now one month old and is thriving.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
I couldn't hold my son until more than 72 hours after he was born. When I finally could hold him I was overcome by the realization that we almost lost him and I was so grateful he was in my arms.
