When did you realize you were really in labor?
I knew something was happening when I rolled over in the middle of the night and felt pretty wet. I was pretty sure I wasn't peeing but it wasn't a gush of fluid like when my water broke with my first born. 5 minutes later, contractions began!

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
If there is a challenge to going natural, I'd say it's dealing with the pain (if I believe that an epidural would have taken it away). The pain is well worth the benefits of going natural!

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Taking Bradley Method birthing classes.

What surprised you about your birth?
How fast it was! I expected the pain to get worse before I felt the urge to push but it never did! Just under 2 hours from
start to finish. 14 hours with my first, 7 hours with the second, and 2 with the third.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Low back pressure, playing my favorite music, being held by my hubby, being able to move and get in any position I felt like I needed, being in my bedroom, bathtub.

What position did you end up delivering in?
Halfway between my Right side and back.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Like I accomplished the biggest feat in the world.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Read and educate yourself! Empower yourself so you won't be afraid. Birth is normal! Recovery from natural birth is so quick!
