What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Reading lots of books, from Ina May Gaskin to calm birth, watching lots of videos like "the business of being born" and positive natural birth stories in video and print!
-
What surprised you about your birth?
Active labour was like a thunder storm, if I stayed relaxed it was like rolling thunder, very satisfying, but if I was distracted or tense it was like a close lightening bolt and loud crash.
It all changed when my water broke and immediately hit transition. Baby was born 27 minutes later.
