When did you realize you were really in labor?
When I was losing globs of mucus every time I went to the bathroom.
-
What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
How fast the labor was! I was only in active labor for 4 1/2 hours! It was way more painful than when I was in labor for my first daughter. And the contractions I felt in a different area this time around and they were more painful.

Know that you CAN do it! Or bodies are so capable. They were made to do this. They didn't have pain medicine many many years ago and they gave birth just fine!
-
What pain relief strategies worked best?
Nothing this time!

What position did you end up delivering in?
On all fours on the bed. I guess I was more so on my knees and then on my elbows.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Incredible! It's so amazing to be able to hold your baby after waiting for 9 months! It makes all the aches and pains worth it!

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Know that you CAN do it! Or bodies are so capable. They were made to do this. They didn't have pain medicine many many years ago and they gave birth just fine! And they had a lot of kids!! Also, if you go into it wanting to go natural, but finally decide during birth you need some sort of pain medicine, don't beat yourself up over it. You did the best you could do and that's okay!
