When did you realize you were really in labor?
It was around bedtime, after I put my older girls to sleep. Hubby and I watched a movie and when it was time to lay down and sleep myself, I realized my contractions were getting closer and stronger and at that point I decided to let my midwife know.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Getting through transition, which took me about an hour or so. And then the ring of fire, that was no joke!

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Rest!! My labor lasted about 12 hours and when abbe finally made her appearances, I was exhausted!

What surprised you about your birth?
How well I was able to get into my zone and get through each contraction. I feel like with being at home this time as opposed to being at the hospital with my other girls, it was much easier to find my rhythm and what worked best to get me through

Just do it! Don't think about it, that allows room for fear and second guessing. I knew my body was designed to do what it needed to do to safety birth my baby so I just let go and let it happen.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Being in the water and counter pressure!! Both were amazing and helped keep me calm and focused.

What position did you end up delivering in?
Squatting position.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Such an amazing relief. I knew I was strong enough to do it naturally and finally holding my little girl proved nothing less than that

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Just do it! Don't think about it, that allows room for fear and second guessing. I knew my body was designed to do what it needed to do to safety birth my baby so I just let go and let it happen. I found my zone, trusted my body and really tried to not let any negative thoughts or emotions take over my state of being
