When did you realize you were really in labor?
I woke up at 2:45 in the morning when my water broke and my contractions started about 30 minutes later.
-
What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
The most challenging thing for me was doubting myself before labor ever began. In the weeks leading up to our due date I began to question if I could really handle going the natural route for labor and delivery.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
My husband and I took the Bradley Method birth classes, they were awesome!
-
What surprised you about your birth?
Ok so women will hate me for this answer but it's the truth; I was surprised how easy it was. I know I had a short labor and really smooth delivery but I was prepared and we breezed right through it

Trust your body! We really need to listen to them and our instincts. I had hired a doula and when I called her she instructed me to just go back to bed and I knew that wasn't what I needed.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
I have an extremely high pain tolerance so it was pretty minimal for me and deep focused breathing got me through it.
-
What position did you end up delivering in?
The hospital standard, laying on my back on the delivery table.
-
How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Like pure bliss!! I was in absolute awe of the little beauty in my arms

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Trust your body! We really need to listen to them and our instincts. I had hired a doula and when I called her she instructed me to just go back to bed and I knew that wasn't what I needed. My labor was 3 hours and our drive from our house was better then an hour plus I had nothing packed to go to the hospital so by the time I got there I was fully dilated and plus 2, I had 4 pushes and was holding my baby girl.
