When did you realize you were really in labor?
I realized labor had officially started when the pains kept waking me up from my nap around 6:15pm.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
The hardest part of going completely natural was staying strong as the contractions became almost unbearable toward the end.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
The thing that helped me the most both pre-labor and during labor was listening to Positive Birthing Affirmations on Youtube. Anytime I became anxious thinking about the birth, I would listen to the affirmations. During labor, listening to them really helped me stay in control and remind myself that I CAN do this!

What surprised you about your birth?
I was pleasantly surprised how quick my labor was (only 7 hours)! I was in labor for 26 hours with my first baby.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
It helped to do deep breathing as soon as I felt another contraction coming on. This helped me stay in control of my body better and to be able to handle the pain better. Also, listening to Positive Birthing Affirmations helped remind me that I am stronger than my contractions.

What position did you end up delivering in?
I ended up delivering on my bed, propped up on a few pillows.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
It felt wonderful, sweet, and exciting holding my baby boy for the first time. I also felt relieved!

I would advise other mamas to listen to Positive Birthing Affirmations both before and during labor. Your mind is powerful and can really help you have a better experience if it is in the right place.
