Bradley Method Classes Helped Taylor During Her Hospital Birth

  • When did you realize you were really in labor?

    At 6pm I had been consistently contracting for an hour every 8 minutes and they were strong contractions

  • What was the most challenging thing about going natural?

    I labored alone for about5 hours in the middle of the night so my husband and older son could get some sleep.

    Remember everything we learned in our Bradley Method classes that was took for our first son in 2013

  • What surprised you about your birth?

    The second time around I progressed so much faster. I was at a 6 and my water broke. I was pushing 30 minutes after that.

  • Just push through the hard moments. Anyone can do anything for sixty seconds. Take it one contraction at a time. Just know it's only one day out of your entire life!
  • What pain relief strategies worked best?

    Leaning against a wall with a peanut ball on my lower back Swaying back and forth. Or someone applying counter pressure on my lower back. I had back labor both times.

  • What position did you end up delivering in?

    On my back

  • How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?

    I felt complete

  • What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?

    Just push through the hard moments. Anyone can do anything for sixty seconds. Take it one contraction at a time. Just know it's only one day out of your entire life! Also I tell myself when I'm walking into the hospital that there's no medicine to help me at all. I hold heartily believe that too. Haha it's worked twice for me!
