Around 8 pm on December 28, 2016

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
This birth was not challenging at all! But I would say the most challenging part was the unpredictability of it all. Baby was breech and I had two other children and no solid childcare in the event that I needed it.

I would say just trust the process, don't feed into the fear, find a supportive birth team and know you can do it!
-
What pain relief strategies worked best?
Hot water bottle on my lower back, massage, lavender essential oils, relaxing music. Knowing I had the unending support from my husband, doula and midwives.
-
What position did you end up delivering in?
I was bending over my couch with a leg propped up
-
How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Incredible and relieving. I was trying so hard to eliminate sources of negativity over my choice to birth my breech baby at home. I was fighting a fear based society. When I was holding her, healthy & safe, I felt a mix of empowered and so relieved that she was finally here and all of the 'what ifs' went away
