When my midwife arrived and told me I was ten centimeters!

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
My son's feet came first, and the cord was prolapse around his foot. I had had two previous cesarean for this same reason, so there were a few minutes where I was absolutely terrified. It was hard to focus through that fear.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Throughout my pregnancy, I spent a lot of time praying and meditating. I also used affirmations and read birth stories about home birth after cesareans.

What surprised you about your birth?
The most surprising thing about Gregan's birth was that in spite of the extreme circumstances - footling breech, HBA2C, and cord prolapse- it was the easiest, most peaceful birth I have experienced.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
It felt like a miracle. We had the ambulance on the way due to the prolapsed cord, and I was sure for a few seconds that I might not be able to hold a living baby.

Trust yourself, and find a care provider you love and trust also.
