When did you realize you were really in labor?
My body tried to go into labor but I ended up getting induced 10 days after my due date.
-
What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
I knew I could go natural because I had with my previous birth but I got worried about the induction, that it would be "too hard". So glad my hubby stood strong with me for what I wanted!

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I made up inspirational cards to read over before and during labor and hung them where I could read the and my nurse/hubby read them to me too!
-
What surprised you about your birth?
It only took 3 good pushes! And how small my baby was!
-
Your body is made to have babies listen to it! There may be times when intervention is needed but don't ever stop listening to your body! I started to break down and feeling defeated they stopped the induction and my body carried on and I could handle it again!
-
What pain relief strategies worked best?
Low tones, listening to my body and distraction (TV)!
-
What position did you end up delivering in?
Queens chair! The hospital bed was shifted around so I had the back almost straight up and a 6 inch seat and the foot part was dropped about 6 inches.
-
How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Shocking! Empowering!
Shocking because we didn't know what we were having and she was almost 2 pounds smaller then my due date babies.
Empowering because I had beaten my fear! And I helped catch her!
