When did you realize you were really in labor?
I started having contractions that were far apart at about 3 or 4 pm on Sunday afternoon which was the day they were inducing me, I was induced at 5:00 pm. Then at about 10:00 pm Sunday night I started having unbearable pain and I knew I was going into labor.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
All the pressure I felt from my thighs down while I was pushing, and also the contractions while doing so.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I asked people I knew who've went through it before questions to know a little bit about what to except.. Even though everybodys labor experience is different.

What surprised you about your birth?
That the epidural wasn't painful that much at all.

No matter how much pain you go through, just know once they lay that precious baby on your chest for the first pain all that pain will be MORE than worth it, and you'll completely forget about all the pain.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
The epidural helped me so much. I had horrible contractions that were unbearable from 10:00 pm Sunday night all the way until 5:00 am Monday morning & then finally after I couldn't take the unbearable pain anymore they gave me my epidural.

What position did you end up delivering in?
Natural birth.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
It was the most amazing, indescribable moment of my life. And the BEST moment I will ever experience. Holding my baby girl after pushing her out and them laying her on my chest was the best feeling ill ever experience. All the pain was definitely worth it.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
