  • When did you realize you were really in labor?

    Midnight on November 18. I had lost my mucus plug the night before and felt different all day. At midnight I felt my first contraction ever and I just knew. It came and went like a wave sweeping through me.

  • What was the most challenging thing about going natural?

    Pushing took 2 hours and I was surprised at how slowly he moved through the birth canal even thought I pushed with all my might with each contraction.

    Trusting my husband with being my support and my advocate. Researching and reading everything I could and watching natural birth stories.

  • What surprised you about your birth?

    How easy it was so say no thank you to drugs. I didn't once think about asking for them even during the height of the pain

  • Trust your self. Don't over research. Try different things in labor.
  • What pain relief strategies worked best?

    Bracing my hands and arms on something, showering, bouncing the on the ball

  • What position did you end up delivering in?

    Laying on my side, both knees pulled up, one foot braced on a bar

  • How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?

    Relieved. Amazed. Thankful

  • What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?

    Trust your self. Don't over research. Try different things in labor.
