When did you realize you were really in labor?
My water broke while I was eating dinner. I actually thought I peed on myself. I stood up and it really gushed!

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
The most challenging thing about going natural was everyone's opinions. One of my best friend's mom actually told me it wasn't like I was going to recieve a trophy or reward for going natural. I had so many ppl tell me to just get the drugs! It blew my mind and was discouraging that so many ppl thought I was crazy for wanting to go natural.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I read a book about going natural. I also meditated every now and then. Both these helped me know I could do it. It is what my body was made for. I was able to just focus and encourage myself through my labor.

What surprised you about your birth?
The contractions are definitely painful, but the whole experience wasn't as painful as everyone made it seem. The actually birthing was no where's near as painful as I thought it was going to be.

My advice is to believe in yourself! Your body knows what to do, and you should listen to it!

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Meditating, just leaving the pain and going to my confident happy place.. telling myself the pain is all worth the outcome!

What position did you end up delivering in?
I delivered on my knees, leaned up against the back of the bed!

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
It seemed so unreal that I had official become a mom! My heart immediately filled with a new kind of love & an abundance of that love! Nothing else mattered except my lil love!

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
My advice is to believe in yourself! Your body knows what to do, and you should listen to it!
