When did you realize you were really in labor?
When I got to the hospital. It was a completely different experience for me. This was my 3rd baby my whole experience was totally different than my other two. It was definitely my easiest and fastest labor & delivery.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Natural? As in, no epidural? Or natural as in giving birth vaginally? I have a very low pain tolerance, I did indeed get the epidural. Lol

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Nothing specifically other than the norm. Had his room done, clothes washed, equipment set up, diapers stocked up, & diaper bag ready to go.

What surprised you about your birth?
Well what surprised me was how easy and fast it went. I was 39 week exactly and I got up around 2:15am to use the bathroom and something gushed. It was a little but so I wasn't sure if it was my water. Then when I went to bathroom another small gush. I started to have small cramping but nothing painful. I was concerned because if it was my water I needed to make sure I got to the hospital in time to receive the antibiotics because I had tested positive for that bstrep test they do. Since it was 2:30am by this time I told my husband I was going to drive myself to the hospital and make sure everything was ok. I didn't want him to take me because that would have meant having to wake up our 2 & 4 year old. No thanks! As I am driving to the hospital I was definitely have close contractions but not painful. It was weird. Once I arrived and went to triash (spelling) as I was laying on the bed getting hooked up to monitor baby's heart and my contractions there was a big gush! The dr checked and it was definitely my water. I was so excited!! I got my epidural around 4am and had my son at 10:27am. It all happened so fast. Definitely no pain and suffering but once I had the baby my recovery was painful. They say the more kids you have the more painful and longer it takes to recover. So far, I agree.

I do applaud those who can handle it and wish I could. But at the end of the day I am not ashamed. I tried.

What position did you end up delivering in?
Laying upright, holding my legs up.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Amazing!!! I cried. It was special. My first boy that I prayed for was finally here. Thank you Lord!

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
I have no advice. I've tried to do it natural with my first two and I couldn't do it. I am thankful that there are options because I would've died! Lol. I do applaud those who can handle it and wish I could. But at the end of the day I am not ashamed. I tried.
