When did you realize you were really in labor?
I didn't get my vbac as I had dreamed about my entire pregnancy, as I had said before having Naomi I just wanted to be able to go into labor on my own, which I got to do & i am thankful I got to experience labor. I started having contractions every 7 mins Sunday morning but later in the evening they were more spaced out, Monday morning I was awaken at 8 am with intense contractions that were every 5 or 6 mins. Went to doc to get checked but it wasn't time to go quite yet, I continued to contract every 4 min until 11:30 pm. we decided to head to the hospital they were getting closer together! I was admitted at 3 am after walking the halls and after more than 22 hrs of hard contractions I got an epidural at 6 am as my body was beyond exhausted from no sleep and laboring!

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Around 4:30 pm the doctor decided I needed an emergency c-section as baby's heart rate was dropping with each contraction & labor wasn't progressing fast enough for me to deliver her naturally! The emotions that hit me in the moment are undescribable all that I had hoped and wished for, I was finally doing it and had labored for so long and went thru so much pain in those two days of laboring I felt like it was all being thrown away and taken from me, I know it was what was best for me & Baby girl and that is all that mattered! The support I had from my family was amazing the room was full of tears and hugs and well wishes as they wisked me away!!

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
The surgery took longer than usual, after the doctor delivered her my epidural wore off & I could feel everything it was like being in a nightmare! I felt every staple, every cut, everything! I scared my husband quite a bit as I was going in and out of it, he was/ is the most amazing support i could have asked for! He stayed by my side encouraging me every step of the way! Never leaving my side! Same with my mom staying thru every contraction, getting no sleep along with us! rubbed my back with each contraction & never leaving my side❤️

What surprised you about your birth?
God had different plans for us and I have come to terms to be ok with that, he let me labor and gave us a healthy baby girl! The nurses were all amazing and I was able to do skin to skin and nurse right away! I lost a pretty significant amount of blood I was given blood transfusions which helped tremendously!!
We have never been so in love - our hearts are more full than we ever imagined they could be ❤️
Wanted to share our birth experience Because i am proud I was able to go into labor naturally and labor for so many hours on my own naturally! I am healing each day will get better! And Baby girl is a great nurser:)
