When did you realize you were really in labor?
I felt what I believed to be my waters leaking at 4:00pm. After I felt the same thing a couple more times I knew for sure that it was water and not just an embarrassing accident.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
My contractions got very intense very quickly. I thought that if this was just the beginning there was no way I could do it for very long without intervention.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
It was amazing! We did not find out the sex of the baby. After having three boys we were so excited to meet our baby girl! I felt joy, relief, and I was so proud of myself. While laboring at home, all I could think about was getting to the hospital and getting the epidural! I was so glad that didn't work out!

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Do lots of reading about the benefits of natural labor and read positive birth stories. Take a class, especially if you don't have the most supportive doctor.
