Baby at 21 Weeks Pregnant 🚼
Got any bananas in your kitchen? Grab the biggest one and take a close look at it. That’s how long Baby Natural is from crown to feet this week. (Yes, starting now, baby is measured from head to toe instead of crown to rump!)
All of baby’s major organs and systems have formed now, though they will of course continue to grow and mature. His bone marrow has begun producing blood cells (taking over that job from the liver and spleen).
But, baby's big job going forward is to acquire that adorable baby fat. He'll need it to fuel his body's massive growth during his first year of life.
On average, babies triple their birth weight during their first year of life, and they grow nearly a foot in length! The layer of fat insulates baby's organs, provides a "reserve" in case of weight loss during an illness, and of course provides an energy source too.
Remember, as baby grows, you'll grow. Don't be surprised if your appetite increases a bit over the next few months.

You at 21 Weeks Pregnant 🚺
They said you’d have a beautiful pregnancy glow. Instead, you have acne worse than a teenager's, or brown spots that rival a leopard's. What gives?!
Once again, you can thank those wonderful pregnancy hormones for an increase in acne, blemishes, or freckling.
Thankfully, there are plenty of safe and natural remedies to treat troublesome pregnancy acne—and even prevent it from happening in the future.
We've also got a good article for you with natural remedies to treat chloasma, or melasma, or the mask of pregnancy (dark splotchy spots of skin pigmentation).
Consider a cleaning with your dentist
There's an old wives tale that says: gain a child, lose a tooth. Unfortunately, this was the case for me during my first pregnancy.
When pregnant, we're more susceptible to dental decay. Not only do our gums swell, which can trap bacteria, but baby is also tapping into our mineral reserves, so the body may pull those much-needed minerals from the teeth if it has to.
It’s important to get on top of this early, as dental decay can also lead to premature labor. Book a cleaning if it’s been a while, and be sure to brush and floss those pearly whites!
