When did you realize you were really in labor?
When my contractions were coming every 1-2 minutes apart and were painful enough that I couldn't talk through them.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Feeling that moment of doubt, thinking I couldn't do it. Knowing that delivering in the birth center, that there was no pain medication if I decided I needed it.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Research, visualization, and prayer! I would day dream constantly of holding my daughter for the first time everyday. I would visualize how I would feel knowing I delivered naturally. It was amazing.

What surprised you about your birth?
How empowering it was to go natural! And how magnificent it was to experience raw birth!

Deep, slow breathing- and holding on to my husband for dear life!

What position did you end up delivering in?
I laboured on my left side lying down, and as my daughter was born, I turned to my back, and pulled her onto my chest.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Magical. Empowering. Surreal. Holding my daughter for the first time, after delivering her naturally, completely changed my whole being, for the better!

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
You can do it! It will change your life, it is the most amazing experience a woman can have. Believe in yourself, believe in your body, and mostly, believe in your baby!
