Selene was the goddess of the moon in Greek mythology. Reply Kristin Cormier Sep 1 at 4:58 pm We found out we were having a girl and I wanted something meaningful. My husband at the time came from several generations of farmers. Everything his family talked about had a moon reference. Even throughout my pregnancy, his family would determine her birth date by moon phase. I thought it was so interesting, and all the girls in his family have S names, so we chose Selene. Plus it’s Kate Bekensales name in the underworld movies and she’s my fav!!!! Reply Dallas Aug 29 at 10:51 am My husband and I like choosing names that are meaningful.
