  3. I was 16 weeks pregnant, and my husband and I had just tested positive for COVID. We were in quarantine watching the movie “Matilda” when my husband suggested the name “Lavender”. He always said that the little girl who played that character reminded him of me and that our baby girl would look just like her. The herb, lavender, is used for healing and calm, which is exactly what we needed in that moment. It felt like confirmation. The name is unique, easy to pronounce, and can be unisex. Sometimes, people spell it ending with -ar instead of -er. We haven’t met another Lavender yet.
