  1. We liked Julia but I’m French and I like the French connotation Juliette

  2. I have always loved the name Juliette and it flows very well with my other girls names which are Elise, Celeste, and Lily.

  3. We had a long list of baby girl names and didn’t even really discuss them in 3rd trimester because we never made any progress. We decided when she arrived, we’d know what her name was. After she was born we couldn’t really agree with the few names left and my husband asked about Juliette. It was one of the first names I had put on the initial list, but at some point it had disappeared.
I really liked “J” names and I liked that there were so many nicknames (Jules, Juju, JJ, Julie). My husband liked it because there are a lot of “Ju” prefixes in his family and “it just fits her”. So Juliette is what she became!

  4. I like that Juliette is not a common name and I find it to be a beautiful name.

    • I am the 3rd generation of my family to have the name Juliette, and my niece became the 4th generation. Sometimes it is the first name, like mine, other times it is a middle name. I know of others with the same name, like Juliette Binoche, but apart from my family members I had never met another Juliette in person. The name was not common when I was born. That changed in the past five years when I have been introduced to several infants called Juliette. I love my name when pronounced, and for what it represents to me; family continuity and a sense of belonging.
