Share Your Thoughts 2 Comments Rachel Jul 3 at 8:21 am It’s a family name and his brother has another family name that starts with an H. Reply Erica Apr 6 at 9:29 am My husband loves the name. We both graduated from Howard University and he has a strong connection with the school. It was a great time for him in life growing up on Howard University’s campus since he was raised in Washington, DC. I however do not have that same deep connection to my Alma Mata. However, once I researched the meaning of the name I was sold. It means brave heart (courageous) and chief guardian. These qualities I would want my son to possess. So, with much prayer and surrender I totally got unified with my husband and we are very happy with the name Howard Mac Horton. Mac is dedicated to my husband’s late grandfather whose middle name was MacArthur. We love family names and names with meaning.
