  1. Family name

  2. It was my grandfather’s middle names and as a teacher for 15 years I never taught or heard of a Hayes, so hopefully his name isn’t TOO common while also not being way out there either.

  3. Nice!

    • Are you a Hayes!? How did you like growing up with the name?

  4. I think it’s a handsome name for a boy! My husband and I are doing all H names for our kiddos and we liked that it was different. I wish there was a stronger meaning behind his name, but it’s nice nonetheless. His name suits our son perfectly!

  5. I chose it because it wasn’t a name I’ve heard of before for a first name and it’s a family name as a last name

  6. My husband and I started a trend without realizing it right away with our boys. Our fist two had five letters with a Y in the middle (or at least not the beginning or end). So we decided to keep that tradition with the other two. We both really liked Hayes and it was a close second when choosing our third boy’s name. It was an obvious choice for our last.

  7. Heard it and loved it. Knew it was not common
